Vince Steeles shocking passing during a Brii Combination Wrestling event has left the wrestling world reeling, and new details have now emerged about what happened in his final moments.
According to PWInsider, Steele was in the middle of a four-way match against Jeff Skywalker, Max Capacity, and Benny Blanco when he collapsed in the corner of the ring. The referee immediately called for the bell as another CPR-certified referee rushed into the ring to assist. BCW officials quickly called 911, and while police arrived within minutes to take over CPR efforts, an ambulance didnt arrive for 23 minutes.
A defibrillator was used as medical personnel fought to save Steeles life, but he was eventually transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
BCW has since released an official statement, confirming Steele suffered a fatal heart attack during the March 16 event, Madness at the Mecca. The promotion expressed its devastation over losing a beloved locker room leader and vowed to share memorial and fundraising details in the coming days. BCWs statement read:
BCW canceled the remainder of the event following Steeles collapse, allowing fans to leave while the locker room stayed behind to await updates. When news of his passing was confirmed, fellow wrestlers went to the hospital to pay their respects. Steele is survived by several children, and fundraising efforts to support his family will be announced soon.
