WWE fans used to see Vince McMahon practically every week, but hes certainly stepped out of the spotlight in recent memory. The former Chairman of the Board isnt a hermit, and he is still getting out there. A recent appearance at an NBA game more than proved that.
Vince McMahon attended the New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat game at Madison Square Garden on March 17. The broadcast identified him as a Former Wrestling Promoter the show.
This is notable, because Vince McMahon stepped down from his roles at WWE following allegations of sexual misconduct and a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. He actually retired in 2022, but then came back to usher in the merger of WWE and UFC into TKO Group Holdings. Then he left again for good the next year, only after WWE started losing sponsors.
Janel Grant later filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE, alleging sexual assault and trafficking. McMahon resigned from his role as TKO executive chairman and from his position on the publicly traded companys board of directors. He also unloaded a ton of stock, making it impossible for him to return.
That isnt the only legal situation going on in Vince McMahons world. In January 2025, McMahon reached a settlement with the SEC over hush money agreements. The settlement did not include an admission or denial of the allegations. Meanwhile, the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant remains ongoing, with McMahon denying the allegations.
We will have to see when Vince McMahon pops up next, but you never know what he will do next. He has a ton of money and can take in as many games as he likes. Only time will tell how his lawsuit situation with Janel Grant goes, but we will keep our eye on any new updates here at Ringside News.
