Josh Alexanders next move has been a hot topic ever since he wrapped up his TNA Wrestling contract, and all signs have pointed to him joining AEW. But weeks have passed, and fans are still waiting for The Walking Weapon to make his debut. Now, theres an update on whats causing the delay.
During a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked directly about Alexanders AEW status and whether the deal is still happening. According to Sapp, Alexander is still expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling, but the holdup appears to be paperwork-related.
This would explain why Alexander was able to make a surprise appearance at MLPs Mayhem Night Two in Windsor, where he helped The Jet Setters fend off Blake Christian and Sheldon Jean. Since MLP is a Canadian promotion, Alexander wouldnt need to finalize his U.S. work visa to compete there.
AEW has been known to run into visa issues with international talent before, so if this is the case, fans might have to wait a little longer before Alexander officially walks through the Forbidden Door. With AEW already packed with top-tier talent, itll be interesting to see where he fits in once he finally arrives.
