The March 19 episode of AEW Dynamite took place at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, NE. Fans were ready for anything, and that is what they got this week.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mon defended the TBS Championship against Billie Starkz. This was quite an opportunity for the younger Starkz.
The TBS Title match went on second of the night this week, right after the controversial finish that determined Kenny Omegas challenger at AEW Dynasty. This contest also received a big fight feel with the pre-match introductions from Justin Roberts.
Although Mercedes Mone maintained control early on, Billie Starkz was able to gain control after a couple of dives to the outside. Fans chanted for Starkz as she nailed a senton on Mone off the top for a near fall.
This battle stretched through a commercial break, as the action continued in picture-in-picture. During the break, Mone hammered on Starkz as the challenger sold for the champion. When we returned from break, Starkz was kicking out of a pinfall attempt after taking a punishing move.
Billie Starkz was having her 500th career match with this contest, and she gave it her all. In the end, the finish came after Mercedes was able to lock in the Statement Maker and get a tap out.
We will have to see whats next for the TBS Title picture. Only time will tell what Tony Khan will book in the future, especially with Mercedes Mone walking around with four titles.
