Emma Raducanu is set to hit the coaching market again after deciding to call time on her partnership with Vladimir Platenik after just two weeks and feeling their partnership wasn't heading in the right direction.

Earlier this month in Indian Wells, the 2021 US Open champion was spotted with the Slovak coach before confirming their trial period. In the desert, the world No. 60 sounded optimistic about the collaboration and it looked like she felt it was the right fit she was searching for.

On Wednesday, Raducanu made an outstanding start at the Miami Open, destroying Sayaka Ishii 6-2 6-1. But in the stands, there was no Platenik. Later, it was confirmed via a statement from her management that the two went their separate ways.

Raducanu's management: It wasn't quite heading in the right direction

"Emma and Vlado have parted ways. Emma has utmost respect for Vlado and the work they started but it wasnt quite heading in the right direction. Emma is now focused on doing as well as she can here in Miami after her a solid start today and will continue looking for the right coach," a statement from the 22-year-old's management read.

In the past, Platenik worked with Dominika Cibulkova, Daria Kasatkina and Veronika Kudermetova.

After splitting with five different coaches in her first two years, Raducanu added childhood coach Nick Cavaday to her just before the start of 2024. And she ended up lasting with one coach for a full season for the first time in her career. Unfortunately for the Briton, she couldn't continue with Cavaday after the coach had to step away to address his health issues.

Meanwhile, Raducanu - who plays against Emma Navarro in the Miami second round - was all smiles after beating Ishii.
