WrestleMania 41 is just weeks away, and WWE is pulling out all the stops to make the weekend as big as possibleincluding The Roast of WrestleMania, hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe. While the event is meant to bring humor to the biggest wrestling weekend of the year, not everyone in WWE is thrilled about it.
Speaking on The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp was asked if there had been any internal pushback from wrestlers regarding the roast. While he hadnt heard of outright complaints, he confirmed that some WWE talent wasnt exactly thrilled.
The roast is set for April 20 at the BleauLive Theatre in Las Vegas, just hours after WrestleMania 41 wraps up at Allegiant Stadium. The private, off-air event will feature WWE names like Sami Zayn, The Miz, Braun Strowman, and Paul Heyman, with Fontainebleau Las Vegas serving as the official hotel partner.
However, Hinchcliffes involvement is already stirring controversy. In 2024, he made headlines for all the wrong reasons after delivering racist jokes at a Donald Trump rally at Madison Square Garden. His set included insults directed at Puerto Rico, offensive stereotypes about Black people, mockery of Latinos for having large families, and derogatory remarks about Palestinians.
With mixed reactions already brewing, The Roast of WrestleMania could either be a hit or a PR nightmare. Whether WWEs decision to include Hinchcliffe will pay off remains to be seen, but one thing is certainthis event will have people talking.
