Scottie Scheffler was quite direct in his interview with the media, talking about the current situation in the world of golf, a bit disappointed in the direction things are going. The 28-year-old surprised everyone, saying that LIV Golfers are primarily to blame for this situation, considering the decisions they made. The world number 1 misses playing with famous faces of this sport who decided to become part of the controversial Tour.
In the media interview, Scottie singled out one name in particular. Namely, Scheffler misses playing with Jon Rahm, the man who dominated the PGA Tour before he made the controversial decision.
Scheffler knows his qualities, and has only words of praise for the successes the Spaniard has achieved.
Scottie recalled some duels between the two of them, which remained etched in everyone's memory, not only Scottie's.
"One of the great joys of my career is going up against Jon," said Scheffler, as quoted by Golf Monthly.
"He's a tremendous player, tremendous talent. I was definitely surprised to see him leave last year and I for sure miss playing against him.
We had some great battles over the years. We had some great battles in the Ryder Cup. I think we've halved most of our matches in the Ryder Cup, Jon and I."

Scottie Scheffler stresed that he and Jon Rahm have played many times, including the last two Ryder Cup tournaments. Between them, most of the matches ended in a draw, while both of them won once. Scheffler added that he misses the competition against Rahm, and regrets that they don't meet more often. However, he said he would relish any opportunity to compete against him again in the future.
It is really hard to expect that these two great golfers will share golf courses in the coming period, given that there are no indications that the final deal between the PGA Tour and PIF will be completed in the near future.
