Given that, according to many, the world number 1 is the main favorite to win this tournament, Scottie stressed that he is absolutely not interested in the role of favorite. Scheffler doesn't want to think about it at all, or put pressure on himself.
Well, believe it or not, Im not gonna gamble on the Master tournament, so I could not really care any less, Scheffler said, as quoted by Irish Independent.
Injury problems
Scheffler was injured during the offseason, missing several tournaments in the new season. The world number 1 admitted that the injury set him back a bit, but he feels that he is improving day by day, believing that he will get back on track. Scheffler is excited about the progress and the challenges ahead.
I think it would be silly to say that it didnt set me back a little bit because I had to take a good amount of time off, Scheffler said.

Im a right-handed golfer. So any sort of injury you have to that hand, especially a surgical one, is going to have some sort of effect. But each day, my hand continues to improve.
My body continues to get back to where it needs to be and I think my swing is coming around as well. Im definitely excited about the improvements that Im making.
