A few days ago, Rory McIlroy spoke about his plans for the future, stressing that he has no intention of playing on the Champions Tour when he turns 50. The Northern Irish golfer has different plans for the future than most. However, some have different opinions.

Padraig Harrington, a famous Irish golfer, reacted to Rory's statements in a press conference, a bit uncertain that this would really be the case.
Look, they're words, Harrington said, as quoted by Irish Independent.
You say words and they're picked over and pulled apart.
I think what you'll find is a lot of people when they're 30 years of age need to have an Rory's a little older than that but needs to have an idea that there's a limit on this, but that limit comes up very quickly and it gets passed."
We've heard a lot of people say that. The fact of the matter is somebody like me, I've never been happier than out here playing on the Champions Tour. Never been happier.
Love my golf, loving my life. I can't see like why anybody wouldn't want to do this. Literally every week I'm living a life that people would save the whole year to have this one week."

Padraig Harrington explains his views
Harrington stressed he enjoys traveling to golf tournaments, noting that he has the privilege of doing so 30 times a year. For most people his age, going on one golf trip a year is a big deal, but Harrington has the opportunity to do it regularly, which allows him to constantly be in an environment he loves and enjoys at all times.
The seasoned golfer believes McIlroy will change his mind about playing on the Champions Tour. He feels that Rory, given his love of golf, may change his mind over time, as he will realize that the tournament is a lot of fun, and also the opportunity to relive the exciting moments under pressure, such as his past victories.
Harrington points out that McIlroy, when he is older, will probably enjoy competing again, as it will be an opportunity to validate his past successes.
