AEW isnt taking any chances in its legal fight with Ryan Nemeth. The company has officially filed a motion in federal court in Florida, asking to seal Nemeths talent contract to prevent it from being made public.
According to legal documents obtained by WrestleNomics, AEW argues that exposing the terms of its contracts would cause irreparable harm to its business, especially if competitors gained access to the details. The company insists that keeping the agreement private is essential for maintaining its competitive edge in the wrestling industry.
This latest move is part of AEWs broader strategy to shift Nemeths lawsuit from California Superior Court to arbitration, effectively removing it from public scrutiny. If the court agrees, Nemeths claimsincluding breach of contract, intentional interference, and his allegations that CM Punk (Phil Brooks) assaulted himwould be handled privately.
Nemeth originally filed his lawsuit in February, accusing Punk of physical threats, Tony Khan of enabling the behavior, and AEW of blackballing him from the wrestling industry. His legal team is expected to fight AEWs latest move, as sealing the contract could limit transparency in the case.
