J.J. Spaun has been attracting a lot of attention in recent days, after the playoffs at the Players Championship. The 35-year-old golfer wanted to win the title, the second in a row, but Rory McIlroy, the world number 2, stood in his way. The Northern Irishman won in the end, with a lot of fans on his side.

However, there were those who sided with J.J. Spaun, like Xander Schauffele. With Rory recently passing him on the OWGR list, the American golfer hoped that J.J. celebrate.
Schauffele has been out for a while due to injury, but is now motivated to return to winning ways and spoil the dreams of his rivals; Scheffler and McIlroy.
Xander pointed out that Spaun had a difficult task, having only words of praise for this golfer.
Yeah, I was pulling hard for J.J. I knew it was going to be tough. I thought he may have had an advantage if they played that night on Sunday, he was playing really nice, he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette
Its always hard to come back out the next morning. Im sure there was a lot of based on what I heard around the course, a lot of people werent pulling for him, but the Aztecs always pull for each other. And hes always been impressive to me. I think its just a matter of time before he gets comfortable. And I heard hes talked about his family and hes got two little kids now and his wife Melody is great, so I think its changed his perspective and hes kind of being a little bit kinder to himself on the property.

Consistency
Schauffele stressed that Spaun is consistent in his game, from start to finish. He added that his putter is the key club in his bag that allows him to play very well, or not play at all.
This great golfer said that Spaun has always hit the ball well and has an easy swing. Schauffele also noted that Spaun has changed his putter and is now putting quite well, which almost led to his victory in one of the biggest tournaments.
