A dream match seems to be in the works according to a recent report.
According to Fightful Select, we could be getting AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone vs. ROH Womens World Champion very soon, as soon as AEW Dynasty. Dynasty is set to take place on Sunday, April 6.
The report states that during AEW Revolution earlier this month, Billie Starkz was shown watching the Mone vs. Momo Watanabe match. Starkz has been feuding and being an ally to Athena for the past two years. She faced Mone on the March 19 episode of Dynamite for the TBS Title, to which Mone retained.
Fightful has reached out about further aspects of this and received word that Athena vs. Mone is very much the plan. Mone is approaching ten months as TBS Champion while Athena has a staggering two plus year reign as ROH Womens Champion.
A one-on-one match between Athena and Mone has never taken place. They have worked together as a team and even in a triple threat. They have not shared a ring together in AEW yet and it has been over six years since they have.
Currently for Dynasty we have one womens match confirmed and that is for the AEW Womens World Title with the champion Toni Storm defending against Megan Bayne.
