Coco Gauff's Miami run is literally off to the best way possible after the third-ranked American destroyed 2020 Australian Open championSofia Kenin 6-0 6-0 in just 47 minutes.

In the past, the 2023 US Open champion had some painful defeats versus Kenin, losing to the former world No. 4 during the 2020 Australian Open and 2023 Wimbledon. But this time, the world No. 3 didn't allow any upsets - and she handled the business this time in an impressive way.

It is not a secret that Gauff's serve hasn't worked that well over the last two months. But today, the 21-year-old was rock-solid in that department, winning 84 percent of her first serve points and saved the only break point she faced. On the other side, she was constantly pressing Kenin's serve and stunningly didn't allow her opponent to have a single game point.

For a place in the Miami round-of-16, the No. 3 seed will battle against either Maria Sakkari or Lucia Bronzetti.

Gauff hopes to land her first Miami title this year

American women's tennis currently has three players ranked inside the top-5 - there are also Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys. When asked about it, the 21-year-old expressed hope that one of them can make it all the way at the tournament this year.

"Super special to be surrounded by so many talented women off the court. Its great for American tennis for both the women and men. Hopefully one of us, preferably me, can take this title here," world No. 3 Gauff said.

A bit surprisingly, the 21-year-old has yet to make it past the Miami round-of-16 - she is making her sixth appearance at the tournament.
