Alberto Del Rio isnt staying quiet about his six-month suspension from wrestling in Tijuana. After his wild altercation with a fan at an AAA event led to disciplinary action, the former WWE Champion is speaking outand hes putting the blame squarely on the Tijuana Wrestling Commission.

In a statement Sportskeeda, Del Rio defended himself, saying the entire situation was a failure of event security and that he was the real victim. The 47-year-old star claims that during his post-match promo on March 14, an intoxicated fan first threw an ice cube at him, hitting him in the eye. Though he ignored it, the same fan later threw coins at his forehead, escalating the situation.

Del Rio insists that instead of punishing the fan, security let him walk away, and now hes the one paying the price. He didnt hold back when calling out the Tijuana Wrestling Commission and its head, Julio Csar Casillas, for their handling of the situation.

As it happened when we lost my dear friend Pedro [Hijo del Perro Aguayo], The Tijuana [Wrestling] Commission washed their hands, blaming someone else for what happened to divert the attention, Del Rio said, referencing Aguayos tragic in-ring death in 2015 at the same venue.

Del Rio went on to claim that the commission failed once again by not providing proper medical staff and security, which led to both him and a female fan getting injured in the chaos.

They failed due to not having an ambulance, physician, stretcher, among other things. Today, they do the same thing [blame someone else for their own mistakes], but with me to divert the attention that, a woman and myself ended up physically injured after being attacked by a bunch of misfits [drunk fans].

Despite his suspension from Tijuana, Del Rio confirmed that he is still free to wrestle everywhere else in Mexico, so fans can still expect to see him compete in other promotions.

With Del Rio putting the blame on AAA officials and security, the big question now is whether the suspension will hold or if hell fight to have it overturned.
