
Victoria Mboko secured a milestone victory at the Miami Open! The 18-year-old Canadian received the main draw wild card and used it with both hands to extend her incredible streak in 2025.

Mboko faced Camila Osorio in the first rond and prevailed 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 in just over two and a half hours. Thus, a teenager celebrated her first WTA victory, providing three breaks in the decider and bringing home her first top-100 win.
Victoria came to Miami with a 27-1 run athe ITF level this season. The young gun lifted five trophies and gained confidence ahead of her first ain draw encounter on the notable scene.
The Canadian claimed one point more than the Colombian. Victoria dropped serve six times and generated 18 break opportunities. The young gun seized eight, three in the decider, to bring the victory home and move to the second round.
Mboko denied break points in the second game of the encounter and held with a forehand winner. A teenager attacked in the third game and generated three break points with a backhand winner. Camila sprayed an error on the third to fall 2-1 behind.

The young gun served well and provided another break in game seven for 5-2. The 18-year-old squandered three set points on serve in game eight and lost serve. Victoria missed another set point on serve at 5-4 and netted a backhand to bring her rival back to 5-5.
Mboko kept her composure and forced the rival's mistake in game 11 for a break and a 6-5 lead. The Canadian served for the set for the third time in game 12 and held at 30 for 7-5. The second set was more fluid, with deuces in only one game.
They traded four breaks after the opening game to stay neck and neck. The servers stepped in and delivered six holds for more drama and excitement. Osorio closed the 11th game with a service winner and made a push on the return in the next one.

The Colombian landed a volley winner at the net for three set points. She converted the first after the rival's loose forehand to clinch the set 7-5 and force a decider. Instead of building on that, Camila struggled in every service game of the final set.
She denied three break points in the opening game and held when a teenager placed a forehand long. However, Mboko clinched a break in the third game for an early advantage. Victoria held after a deuce for 3-1 and wasted another break point in game five.
Camila brought the game home with a service winner and gained confidence. The more experienced player welcomed a wayward backhand from a teenager in game six, pulling the break back and locking the result at 3-3.
Victoria made a fresh start and landed a forehand drive-volley winner in game seven for three break chances. She converted the third with a forced error and moved 4-3 in front. The Canadian cemented the lead with a powerful serve in game eight and kept the pressure on the other side.

Mboko painted a backhand down the line winner on the return in game nine for a match point and seized it after Osorio's loose backhand to celebrate her first WTA victory.
