Watching Rory McIlroy's performances, one can see how much the Northern Irishman has progressed in every aspect, both playing and mentally. The experienced golfer, although he had great seasons behind him, could have done much more, and the main reason why he once fell short of victories is his mindset. At least that's the general opinion among fans.

However, this season seems different for him, considering that from tournament to tournament, McIlroy looks perfect. The last victory, at the Players Championship, put the wind at the back of the experienced golfer.
Brad Faxon, his putting coach, pointed out that Rory is now a complete player.
"He is a complete player now," -he said, as quoted by Express.
"You look at the greatest players ever, like Jack [Nicklaus] and Tiger, as they got older, they were better and smarter players."

Faxon looked back at McIlroy's earlier performances, saying that when the Northern Irishman was younger he won by driving the ball better than others. However, today, even when he is not dominating in that aspect, Tiger does great things in other aspects, bringing benefits to himself.

Indeed, we cannot escape the impression that the 35-year-old could be the biggest star of the golf scene this season.
"When Rory was younger, he won by driving the ball so much better than everyone else. But [here, he] had a poor driving day in round one, he had a poor putting round on Saturday, and he still got it done. The point is that Rory can now do it in many different ways and that is lost when it comes to people saying that Rory is one-dimensional."- he continued.
Rory also believes he is a much better player now than he was before. This gives huge hope that this season could look a little different for him, although as we said, McIlroy has always been one of the main faces of the PGA Tour
