Sami Zayn has been off WWE TV since that no-rules beatdown at Elimination Chamber, but dont believe everything you read about why hes been gone. A new report claimed Zayn had requested a leave of absence from WWE, but the former Intercontinental Champion isnt having any of it.
Fightful Select recently stated that Zayn had allegedly asked for time off following his brutal Unsanctioned Match loss to Kevin Owens in Toronto. That report immediately sparked speculation about his status ahead of WrestleMania season.
But Zayn wasted no time firing back online. Taking to Twitter, he shut the rumor down with a short and sharp response: 100% faux. No sugarcoating. Just Sami being Samiclearing the air in one line.
Zayn hasnt been seen on WWE programming since Owens left him battered, but fans have kept tabs on his life outside the ring. He was recently spotted on a double date with none other than Home Alone icon Macaulay Culkin, posting a smiling group photo on Instagram with the caption: Fine company, fine food. So while hes been off TV, its clear hes enjoying his downtime and staying in good spirits.
Now that the leave of absence chatter is off the table, all eyes are on when Zayn will make his returnand whether hell have something to say (or do) about KOs path to WrestleMania.
