AEW fans expecting their usual Saturday night fix of Collision were thrown into chaos this weekendand not the kind that usually comes with high spots and chair shots.
A surprise schedule shake-up saw Slam Dunk AEW Collision split in half across Saturday and Sunday for TNT and HBO Max viewers. But for fans watching on Trillers AEW Plus service, things went from annoying to downright infuriating.
While Tony Khan hyped up the action in real-time on Twitter, Triller subscribers were left confused and frustrated. Thats because the streaming platform chose not to show the show in two partsopting instead to air the full two-hour version on Sunday at 11 PM EST, leaving fans completely in the dark for the first half of the program.
Tony Khan tweeted on Saturday night: Right NOW on @TNTdrama + on @StreamOnMax We are starting out Slam Dunk Saturday #AEWCollision with a huge TNT Title Match with guaranteed No Outside Interference, TNT Champion Daniel Garcia vs challenger @AdamColePro on NOW!
The problem? Triller users werent seeing anythingbecause their version wouldnt be live until the next day.
Thats when the floodgates opened in the replies.
I wanted to see it but Triller says its available tomorrow, what the hell is going on Tony? one fan wrote.
Another blasted the situation, tweeting, Well i cant see the fing thing can i because the cs at triller wont show it until tomorrow for some reason.
Others didnt hold back their criticism of the show itself. Watching 2 dogs f** on the side of the road is more entertaining than this stupidity,* one viewer added bluntly.
One fan demanded more attention to presentation, saying, Do more with Megan Baynes entrance and stop being lazy with your production.
Some fans pointed fingers at AEWs long-term direction. TK what are you doing man? You need to take AEW back to where it was when it first began Go back to 2019thats when it was exciting! It is so predictable now! another posted.
And then there were fans offering unsolicited creative ideas. Hello Mr. Tony Khan, you dont know me, I am a big fan of AEW but lately your product has been stale. I have an idea for your tournament for the Owen you should have a tournament for the womens and at the end of the AEW Tag Team Championships.
While some are clearly just venting online, this weekends schedule confusion left a lot of AEW diehards feeling ignored and frustratedespecially those who paid for AEW Plus expecting consistent delivery.
Do you think AEW and Triller shouldve done a better job informing fans? Should Tony Khan respond directly to the backlash? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know how you feel.
