AEW Dynamites March 19 episode will forever be remembered for its incredibly brutal match featuring Jon Moxley and Adam Copeland, as Moxley was literally impaled by a spike as the spike was stuck on his back and had to be removed. The spot received a lot of criticism and now Saraya has defended the spot, coming to Moxleys aid.
During a recent appearance on theB4 The Bellpodcast, Saraya defended Jon Moxleys brutal spike spot, saying she was initially concerned but reassured by Renee Paquette that he was fine.
Saraya admitted that it looked rough but pointed out that Moxley has always done extreme things like that even before being on TV. To her, its normal, but she feels some people just look for reasons to complain and call them out for criticizing the spot. She questioned why anyone would be upset when Moxley himself wanted to do the spot.
Jon Moxley and Adam Copelands World Title Street Fight truly turned into an all-out war, as there were multiple run-ins from both Jon Moxley and Adam Copelands side. In the end, Moxley applied the bulldog choke for the win but many people still felt the spike spot was too dangerous and unnecessary.
While Saraya believes the criticism is overblown, others feel AEW is pushing the limits of safety too far. As hardcore wrestling continues to be a staple of AEWs identity, fans have accepted the fact that such a level of violence wont be stopping anytime soon.
