With MJF teasing a major alliance on AEW Dynamite and MVP handing him a Hurt Syndicate business card, fans immediately started fantasy-booking who might roll with the Salt of the Earth. One name that caught fire online? Former MLW World Champion Hammerstone. But dont get your hopes uphes not All Elite. At least, not yet.
After Hammerstone officially wrapped up his TNA Wrestling run on the March 13 episode of TNA iMPACT!, speculation exploded about whats next. He wrestled Joe Hendry in his final bout with the promotion, coming up short in a World Title match taped at Full Sail University in February. That same night, Hendry also squashed Ryan Nemeth in an earlier segment, making Hammerstones exit feel like a big moment.
Hammerstone confirmed the news himself, writing on Twitter/X: I wrestled my last match for TNA at the February tapings and am no longer under contract with the company. Grateful for the opportunities that came my way and excited for whats next.
Naturally, the AEW talk started heating upespecially when MJF began teasing that he may need backup to counter the Death Riders. Some fans floated the idea of The Dynasty reunion with Richard Holliday and Hammerstone stepping into AEW to balance the odds.
But during a Fightful Select Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp shut that down. When asked about the possibility of MJF reforming The Dynasty to take on The Hurt Syndicate, Sapp revealed: I asked about this and was told that thats not the plan as of now and that those two are not signed to AEW.
So while MJF considers MVPs offer, dont expect Hammerstone to be showing up on AEW television just yet. He may be a free agent with serious potential, but AEW hasnt locked him downat least, not for now.
Where do you think Hammerstone should land next? AEW, WWE, a return to MLWor something totally different? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know your pick.
