Amanda Anisimova appeared to deliver a subtle shot at Mirra Andreeva following a bit tense Miami Open moment as the world No. 17 displayed a middle finger on her Instagram Story when revealing a blister that caused her to call for a trainer mid-match.

If you missed it, the American was leading 3-1 in the third set of her Miami third-round match against the reigning Dubai and Indian Wells winner. With the Russian 40/30 up on her serve in the fifth game, the 23-year-old stopped play and asked for a trainer to come out for a right-hand blister.

Andreeva wasn't happy with that move at all, bluntly stating: We all know why." It wasn't hard to figure out that the 17-year-old was implying that Anisimova's move was made to throw her off her game.

When the match resumed, Andreeva managed to win that game after saving two break points but failed to complete her comeback as the 17th-seeded American registered a 7-6 (5) 2-6 6-3 victory. In the locker room, the three-time WTA champion decided to have some fun as she filmed her blister - all while giving a middle finger - and laughing in the vide.

"'We all know why' at 3-1 up was a good one coming from the 1-2 first set medical (laughing emojis)," Anisimova captioned her Instagram Story.

What Anisimova told the press when asked about the incident?

My skin broke on my finger. When you get an acute injury youre allowed to take a timeout, so thats what I did," the American explained.

However, it should be also mentioned that the world No. 17 had some pretty nice words about Andreeva.

Mirra is an amazing player. I knew it would be really tough. It was an incredible match. I was super excited to play here. Its my fourth Miami Open but my first time playing on a big stadium," Anisimova said of the 17-year-old.

Meanwhile, she plays against Emma Raducanu in the Miami round-of-16.
