Manchester United's Patrick Dorgu has made a big impression at Old Trafford in his first couple of months.

The 20-year-old's displays at left wing-back haven't set the world on fire, but they have offered an insight into what's needed from a player if they want to succeed in Ruben Amorim's iteration of a 3-4-2-1 system.

Dorgu has contributed to goals, made lung-bursting runs both inside and out and has even popped up on the right on his debut a move nobody expected from Amorim having chased the Denmark international throughout the January transfer window.

One blot on his copybook was the unnecessary red card against Ipswich Town shown after a clumsy two-footed lunge endangered the safety of Omari Hutchinson but that indiscretion ultimately went unpunished as 10-player United clung on for a much-needed 3-2 win in front of the home faithful.

Dorgu took the number 13 shirt upon his arrival with just a five-letter name emblazoned on the back. But that could be about to change post-international break as he follows in the footsteps of United teammate Chido Obi, who recently altered the name he wishes to go by dropping 'Martin'.

Moving forward, Dorgu, per Manchester Evening News, will now be listed on United's website, teamsheet and squad list as Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu which may be an indication that his shirt will be altered when Premier League and Europa League action returns.

The switch to include Chinazaekpere, which translates to "God answers prayers' in Igbo, is understood to have been requested by Dorgu's family and reflects their Nigerian heritage and religious beliefs.

Other players who have asked to be addressed differently over the years include Leicester's Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who in October 2018 added the name 'De Cordova' to reflect the work and impact of his mother, and former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole - he previously was referred to as 'Andy' during the early part of his career.

Club legend Ryan Giggs previously went by the name Ryan Wilson before changing his surname to that of his mother aged 16 when she remarried, while current central defender Harry Maguire's birth name is actually Jacob.
