The Intercontinental Championship picture is heating up fast as WrestleMania season rolls on, and things might be headed for a massive multi-man showdown on the grandest stage.
On the March 24 episode of RAW, Adam Pearce made it official: Penta vs. Bron Breakker in what many assumed would be a WrestleMania-level match. But dont count out the possibility of that bout being just a piece of a much bigger puzzle.
According Fightful Select, plans are in motion as of last week for a four-way Intercontinental Title match at WrestleMania featuring Bron Breakker vs. Penta vs. Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio.
Breakker recently took on Finn Balor in a high-stakes IC Title defense. Meanwhile, Penta made his intentions clear by challenging Breakker head-on. On top of that, Dominik has been lurking around the picture trying to recruit Penta into Judgment Day and locking eyes with the IC title during the Balor-Breakker match. All the pieces are falling into place.
The working plan as of the Balor/Breakker IC Title match was to actually feature a four-way at WrestleMania, one source confirmed. Still, as always in WWE, nothing is final until its live. Creative plans can change, and fans are reminded not to treat every backstage pitch like its locked in stone.
That said, the storyline tension and recent booking are clearly pointing toward something major and if WWE delivers a fatal four-way on the big stage, it could be one of the most intense IC Title clashes in years.
