The nickname first surfaced from Cody himself, who often referred to his role as Quarterback 1 of WWE. Now, WWE is backing it up in a big way, making the name public in a recent post from their UK X/Twitter account.
This isnt just a marketing push its a clear message. Rhodes has become the face of WWE since dethroning Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41, ending Reigns historic 1,316-day title reign. Since then, Cody has surpassed 350 days as the Undisputed WWE Champion, and hes been carrying the brand on his back ever since.
Now, with WrestleMania season in full swing, Cody is gearing up for one of the biggest matches of his life a showdown against John Cena in what will be Cenas final WrestleMania match. The twist? Cenas heel turn at Elimination Chamber, where he blindsided Rhodes, has added even more fire to their feud.
Last week on RAW, things got heated when Rhodes called Cena whiny and told him to bring the real John Cena to WrestleMania. Both men are set to appear again this week on RAW, and tensions are only expected to rise.
