
Ilja Dragunov suffered an ACL injuryduring a match against GUNTHER back in September 2024 and he was expected to be on the shelf for a considerable length of time. While he remains absent from WWE television, Dragnovs current in-ring return status has been revealed.
While speaking on the post-Monday Night Raw show, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Ilja Dragunovs current in-ring status. He noted that WWE felt Ilja Dragunov was a bit ahead of schedule, but noted that recovery timelines can often be unpredictable, as he said, They felt Ilja was a bit ahead of schedule, but all that stuff can be touch-and-go.
As reported earlier, Ilja Dragunov has been actively training for his in-ring return at the WWE Performance Center and that he was not wearing any support gear for his injury at all.
Dragunov got injured at a bad time because he was just starting to do well on the main roster. At first, doctors thought he would need six to nine months to recover. However, now that hes healing faster than expected, fans are hopeful he will come back sooner.
With WWE keeping a close eye on his progress, it remains to be seen when Dragunov will officially make his comeback. After all, The Mad Dragon is undoubtedly one of the best in-ring competitors in WWE and his return will bring a much-needed shot in the arm for the Raw roster.
