According to Tokyo Sports, Mina Shirakawa will be leaving STARDOM at the end of March. Her departure is a major surprise, especially with the highly anticipated loser retirement match between Tam Nakano and Saya Kamitani set for April 27 at Yokohama Arena. As a former Wonder of Stardom Champion, Shirakawas exit will be a big loss for the company.
It was noted that Shirakawa informed STARDOM of her decision to leave at the end of last year, with her contract officially expiring in March. Her next move is a hot topic, with speculation pointing toward a transition to a major promotion in the United States.
It was added that WWE is a possibility, but AEW seems like a strong option, as she previously wrestled there multiple times in 2024. AEW is also home to Mercedes Mon, the Strong Womens Champion, whom Shirakawa unsuccessfully challenged at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. A move to AEW could set the stage for a rematch. If she does join AEW, she would be the first Japanese female wrestler to make the jump directly from Stardom.
