In crazy news that came out from TNA on March 25, Gail Kim has been let go from the company among several others in backstage roles.
Fightful was the first to report on this based off an email that was sent out by TNA. They have put out another report with more information and about reactions to Kim in particular being fired.
Fightful states that over a dozen TNA talent have reached out to them regarding Kims firing. These reactions were met with shock, disbelief, and anger. It was an overall unpopular move based on who Fightful spoke to. One talent even stated that they will not remain with the company when their deal is up. Others stated they were scared for their jobs.
One person did state that they werent surprised because Kim can be very outspoken when it comes to creative and would sometimes butt heads with those in control. Another person added that although this is true, thats what you want out of a person in her position. Someone who will advocate for a better show. Kim has been direct with her complaints and could not have been more professional, Fightful was told. She was pushed very heavily into creative for the Knockouts since Scott DAmores exit last year. As upset as talent was publicly, they were even more so privately.
Sources from both AEW and WWE have expected Gail Kim to get interest across the wrestling industry. A few said that they were going to push for her. Fightful was todl Kim does plan on continuing with the industry. The report further states that the decision for these firings were from TNA President Carlos Silva and he told Kim she was fired but didnt provide a reason outside of changes.
Kim has a no non-compete clause and can show up anywhere she wants or work wherever immediately.
