Andy Roddick absolutely unloaded on the ATP during the latest episode of his podcast as the former world No. 1 said that the governing body for men's tennis messed up the schedule pretty bad.

It is not a secret that the majority of players feel that an 11-month season is just too much and many of them have made their feelings on the position pretty clear. However, the criticism hasn't been getting to the ATP that much since the feeling is that the calendar has only become more demanding over the last few years with more Masters tournaments switching to a two-week format.

Specifically this year, the 2025 season on the ATP Tour will officially conclude on November 25th after the final day of the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

Roddick to the ATP: You f----- the schedule royally, you keep talking about the shortening but it isn't happening

The ATP, I am going after you right now, because you have to maintain an ounce of credibility. You f----- up the schedule royally. All we hear is that we are going to have the best interest of shortening the season, shortening the season," the 2003 US Open winner said on the Served with Andy Roddick podcast.

You talk about it all the time but then what do you do? With not a lot of player input you are making every event two weeks, you are adding weeks to the calendar, you are going to put one in February dont be shocked when that one comes around. And we hear about buy backs and they dont happen."

The Roddick rant started around the 1:17:45 mark.

In late 2024, ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi was asked to address the criticism surrounding the Tour calendar and schedule. That's when he bluntly stated that some players who complain about the schedule "should play fewer exhibitions." Also, he suggested that players could choose where to play.

After that statement, some players fired back by bringing up the ATP rules and possible sanctions that come with missing tournaments.

On his podcast, Roddick also suggested that the season finishing at least in late October would be a major improvement.
