Kanji gets a shot at the RevPro Undisputed British Womens Title on April 20 at the promotions High Stakes event. The current champion, Mercedes Mon appeared on screen at a recent RevPro event to lay out the challenge.
While speaking with This is a Revolution, Kanji showed her shock and awe that she was going to be able to face Mon next month.
Its actually happening now. So I think it just really hit me like, oh my god, its not even just words anymore. Its not even just an idea. Its real, like its happening. Its just crazy to think that shes stood there, shes filmed this, she knows my name. Like thats crazy. I just couldnt believe it. Then the response of everyone that lots of people just stood up and started chanting, that i deserve it and I think that really touched my heart because I really didnt expect anything like that. That was the thing that actually made made me cry. It was that, the audience chanting that, that got me. (Transcript: Fightful)
Mon has held this title for 82 days and counting after defeating Mina Shirakawa. This will be Mons first defense of it. Kanji is a former two-time PROGRESS Womens Champion in the PROGRESS promotion based out of London.
