Roman Reigns just made WrestleMania historyagain.
With his spot now officially locked in for the Night 1 main event of WrestleMania 41 in a triple threat match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins, Reigns has now secured his 10th WrestleMania main eventand his sixth in a row. Lets run the numbers. The Tribal Chief previously headlined:
- WrestleMania 31 vs. Brock Lesnar
- WrestleMania 32 vs. Triple H
- WrestleMania 33 vs. The Undertaker
- WrestleMania 34 vs. Brock Lesnar (again)
- WrestleMania 37 vs. Edge & Daniel Bryan
- WrestleMania 38 vs. Brock Lesnar (again)
- WrestleMania 39 vs. Cody Rhodes
- WrestleMania 40 Night 1 vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins
- WrestleMania 40 Night 2 vs. Cody Rhodes
- WrestleMania 41 Night 1 vs. Seth Rollins & CM Punk
Thats not just dominancethats legacy-level stuff. This weeks WWE SmackDown from London featured the contract signing between the three men. Reigns took his time basking in the crowds acknowledgment before putting pen to paper. Seth Rollins followed with his usual fanfare, pointing out that the two had already moved out the old guard.
Then CM Punk made his way to the ring, and in classic Punk fashion, he borrowed from They Live and told the crowd, Im here to chew bubblegum and sign a contractand Im all out of bubblegum.
Punk confirmed hell get the main event spot at WrestleManiabut also made it clear that this wasnt the mysterious favor he asked of Paul Heyman. Thats not the favor Im owed, Punk said, dropping a tease that still has fans talking.
Reigns didnt get the credit he demanded from Punk, and Rollins wasnt exactly thrilled about how things played out eitherbut none of that changes the fact that Roman Reigns is entering double-digit Mania main events.
What do you think about Roman Reigns WrestleMania legacy? Does he deserve to be in that many main events, or should someone else be stepping up? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know where you stand.
