His victory in the Hoag Classic is of tremendous merit: he earned it with cards of 67, 64, and 67 for a -15 total, beating golfers of the caliber of Stewart Cink, Ernie Els, and Fred Couples, and with a wonderful and decisive birdie on the 18th, the seventh of his final round. Once again, he won in a champion's style.
It's worth remembering that Miguel ngel Jimnez hadn't won on the world's top senior tour since he did so in August 2022, when he won the Boeing Classic. That same year, he won the Mitsubishi Electric Championship and the Cologuard Classic. Since then, he has racked up a dozen Top 10 finishes, but victory was eluding him until he won the Hassan II Trophy in the second week of February of this year.

With this victory, the Spanish player also strengthens his lead in the Charles Schwab Cup Money, the Champions Tour's order of merit.
The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals. Respecting the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the non-observance by many players of the rules of the game. In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.Since 1952, the R&A, together with the USGA, has published a rule book, common to all courses under their jurisdiction.
