Kevin Knight just made his debut on AEW Collisionand now hes officially All Elite, despite serious interest from WWE.
The former NJPW standout faced off against Jay White on the March 29 episode of Collision in a hard-hitting match that ended with White picking up the win. But after the match, Switchblade had high praise for the newcomer, telling fans, Im pretty sure well be seeing more of Kevin Knight in All Elite Wrestling going forward.
It didnt take long for that to be confirmed. AEW President Tony Khan jumped on social media shortly after and made it official: Kevin Knight is All Elite. But heres where it gets even more interestingWWE wanted him too.
According to PWInsider, Knight was invited to a tryout at WWEs Performance Center just a few weeks ago, and sources say the company was interested in signing him. Cory Hays of PW Nexus backed that up, reporting that WWE had conversations with Knight and wouldve liked him to join NXT.
So what made Knight choose AEW? One word: money.
According to multiple sources, AEW simply made the better offer, and Knight opted to take his talents to the Tony Khan-run promotion instead. That decision could pay off in a big way if AEW gives Knight the platform to shine.
Knights move adds another strong piece to AEWs growing roster of former NJPW talent, and based on the reaction he got in his debut, fans are already on board.
