Aryna Sabalenka revealed plans to celebrate her Miami Open victory in style as the Belarusian funnily shared that her team was in a depressive state for some time but now that is a thing of the past and they will be drinking some tequila.

On Saturday, the world No. 1 routed Jessica Pegula 7-5 6-2 for her first Miami title and her second triumph in 2025.
Early in the final, Sabalenka felt some nerves and only managed to win the first set after earning four breaks. However, that wasn't really surprising, considering that the 26-year-old lost back-to-back finals at the Australian Open and Indian Wells and probably felt pressure to avoid the same fate in the Miami final.
Sabalenka: We were depressed but now it's time for tequila... Hope I don't become an alcoholic
"I thought my team would be so excited. But then I saw them, probably they're so excited, they spent a lot of emotions in the final. Today, we're going to chill, but tomorrow I'm going to force them, yeah, to do something, to have drinks, to have -- I don't know, maybe some burgers, pizza, just to have fun," the 2025 Miami Open winner said.

"I think we should celebrate, because we struggled after those tough finals. We all were kind of, like, depressed. I think after this final, we have to celebrate a little bit just to remember the moment... It's going to be tequila. I'm getting older. Before I would celebrate with some sugar stuff. Nowadays it's alcohol. I hope I'm not going to become an alcoholic, but yeah."
If you have followed Sabalenka's interviews from the past, you are aware that the Belarusian likes to treat herself with a couple of drinks after wins. Following her 2024 Australian Open win, the 26-year-old had a champagne glass in the press room and it was a viral moment. Since she is 23-4 this year and made the final in four of six tournaments played, she definitely has reasons to celebrate.

Sabalenka will now take a couple of days to rest and then kick off her preparation for the start of her clay season in Stuttgart (April 14-20).
