Goldberg just took a major step toward his long-awaited retirement matchand hes doing it with his crew at his side.
The WWE Hall of Famer shared a fresh update on Instagram, showing himself training alongside his son Gage and a handful of names including Kevin Von Erich and Tyrone Spong. In the caption, Goldberg wrote: And the grind begins..assembling my inring crew @goldberg21_99 @ramvonerich @coachjimmyhouse @thekevinvonerich @black_diamond_martial_arts @tyrone_spong.
The post suggests that Goldberg is actively preparing for his final match, which he previously said is planned for 2025. He first mentioned the retirement bout last November, confirming his intention to go out on his own terms.
Earlier this month, Goldberg appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he shared that he had undergone stem cell treatment for a lingering shoulder issue. At the time, he wasnt fully cleared for in-ring action but sounded optimistic. I just know that I got stem cells five weeks and six days ago, and Im cleared physically in a very short period of time, he said.
While theres still no confirmed date or opponent for the retirement match, Goldberg putting in gym time and assembling a crew is the strongest sign yet that hes serious about making it happen.
