Jessica Pegula interrupted Aryna Sabalenka's Tennis Channel interview in a very creative and hilarious way as the American tennis snuck up behind the Belarusian and stole the 26-year-old's margarita.
After losing in back-to-back Miami semifinals in 2023 and 2024, Pegula went a step further this year and made the final. But the top-seeded Belarusian didn't allow the home favorite to claim the title.
As Sabalenka was conducting an interview on Tennis Channel's desk following her 7-5 6-2 win, the 31-year-old appeared out of nowhere - took the drink that was in front of the Belarusian - and then took a sip of it before running away with the drink.
The Miami champion found the scene extremely funny as she said laughing: "That's why I like this girl; she's the best!"
Pegula joked that she 'did not want to like' Sabalenka
As you probably remember, Pegula was also beaten by Sabalenka in her first Grand Slam final at last year's US Open. Also, the American fell short to the Belarusian in the 2023 Cincinnati final. Overall, the current world No. 1 leads their head-to-head now 7-2.
And after losing to Sabalenka in a final for the third time, Pegula had something to say about that.

"Congrats Aryna to you and your team. Three finals. I really dont wanna like you right now but youre the best player in the world for a reason. You keep pushing and challenging everyone to get better. Congrats for an amazing couple of weeks here. Great tournament at Indian Wells too. The last month of tennis youve been able to play is amazing," the American said during her runner-up speech.
Despite the loss, it has been a pretty positive season for Pegula, who is 20-6 in 2025 and has already been to three finals - she won Austin and finished as runner-up in Adelaide and Miami.
Pegula is now slated to start her clay season in Charleston but it won't be surprising to see the American - who is the top seed there - withdraw.
