Triple H just delivered a reality check to every WWE Superstar dreaming of a long, painless career in the ring.
During his recent appearance on Sunday Brunch, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Triple H Levesque didnt sugarcoat the risks of pro wrestling. While discussing the physical toll the industry takes, Triple H made it crystal clearinjuries arent optional, theyre inevitable.
And hed know. In 2001, Levesque famously tore his quadriceps during a tag match but still gutted out the rest of the bout. Then in 2007, the same injury struck again at New Years Revolutionthis time forcing him to miss WrestleMania 23, his first absence from the event since joining WWE in 1995.
Now off the ropes and behind the scenes, Triple Halong with NXT boss Shawn Michaelscontinues to train and guide the next generation. But no matter how well they prepare the roster, some injuries just cant be avoided. Its just part of what we do, he repeated.
So while WWE fans continue to speculate about future returns and in-ring drama, Triple H is out here reminding everyone whats at stake every time a Superstar laces up their boots.
