Deonna Purrazzo hasnt been seen on AEW Dynamite much lately, and fans have been wondering whats going on. Despite her undeniable talent and past success, the former multi-time champion has found herself off AEWs flagship showand now we finally have some answers.
During a Q&A episode of Fightful Selects podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Purrazzos recent absence and whether her college schedule was a factor. Sapp shut that theory down quickly.
Her college obligations have never interfered with her AEW bookings or anything like that, Sapp confirmed, adding that one of the perks promoted by SNHU (Southern New Hampshire University) is its flexibility to accommodate a working schedule.
So, whats the real reason Deonnas not featured? Sapp revealed, Shes made pitches creatively, but as of now, there arent immediate creative plans for her or the Vendetta. That includes the rumored third member of The Virtuosas faction, which Sapp clarified was never actually in the cards. There was never an actual plan to add a member to the Vendetta, and that was only thrown out there to add intrigue.
It also looks like her crossover work with CMLL has hit a pause. While Deonna had previously teamed up with talent like Taya Valkyrie, Sapp noted, CMLL had Lady Frost team with Taya instead of Deonna, so she hasnt had those bookings of late, either. As for whether CMLL will use Deonna again anytime soon, he said, We havent heard of plans within CMLL to use Deonna imminently.
In short, Deonnas ready to gobut its AEW that doesnt currently have anything lined up for her. Shes putting in the work, shes pitching ideas, but for now, its a waiting game.
