WWEs March 28 SmackDown from London just got a whole lot more interestingand it has nothing to do with the contract signing.
According to Fightful Select, the security team for Roman Reigns epic WrestleMania Triple Threat contract segment was actually stacked with well-known UK wrestling names.
Thats rightthose werent just nameless extras playing bodyguards. The group known on-screen as The Romanettes included standout talents like Ethan Allen, Damien Corvin, Shreddy, Elijah, Tate Mayfairs, Kid Lykos, Joe Kessler, Daz Black, Myles Kayman, Kez Evans, Will Kroos, Rampage Brown, and James Ellis.
For UK wrestling fans, this list reads like an indie dream team. Several of these names have made waves across Progress, ICW, RevPro, and other top UK promotions. Having them appear as Roman Reigns personal security at one of the biggest SmackDowns of the year? Thats a serious nod to the British scene.
Roman Reigns was in full Tribal Chief mode, soaking up the crowds love before declaring, London, acknowledge me! Fans roared in response, and even Paul Heyman jumped in chanting his name. With that same confidence, he signed the contract for the WrestleMania 41 main event against CM Punk and Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins entered next, crowd singing his theme loud enough to match Romans pop. CM Punk closed it out, mocking Roman with, I came here to chew bubble gum and sign a contractand Im all out of bubble gum. Heyman jumped in to remind Punk that this contract made him a WrestleMania main eventer for the first time in his career. Seth wasnt having it, yelling that Punk didnt deserve the spot. Punk shot back with a thank you to fans who stuck with him, and sarcastically thanked Roman for the opportunitybefore saying But thats not the favor Im owed.
