Mickie James didnt sugarcoat anything on the March 20 episode of WWE LFGand her target this time was women wrestling in what she called jazzed up lingerie.

While speaking directly to Zena Sterling after her match, Mickie took a moment to acknowledge the shift in her appearance. I like your new gear, she told Zena. I lived during the Diva era, and we fought very, very hard to not have to wrestle in lingerie anymore.

Then she got blunt. Since because I am a female, I can speak on this. Its very frustrating when women go out there and wrestle and all I see is their ass. I cant look past thatits all I see. Its very distracting.

Mickie wasnt trying to tear anyone downher issue was with the image some women present when trying to be taken seriously. You want to be taken seriously as a wrestler, but you are pretty much wrestling in jazzed-up lingerie, she said. And thats my opinion. And thats coming from someone whos had their ass on TV a lot.

The WWE legends comments instantly sparked debate, but theres no denying she gave Zena her flowers for stepping away from the flash and leaning into a more traditional, athletic look.

Whether you agree or not, Mickie made her stance crystal clearsubstance should come before sex appeal.
