Carmellas time with WWE may be overfor nowbut the door isnt locked shut.

In a new interview with New York Post Sports, the former SmackDown Womens Champion confirmed that her WWE contract has officially expired after 12 years with the company. While she previously went public about feeling ghosted by WWE, Carmella now says shes not ruling out a return.

So Im not like a never-say-never person. To me, I do feel such loyalty to WWE. I loved my time working there, she said. If I ever went back, I would hope it would be for WWE. I would wanna go back as Carmella and moonwalk my way out there and be in a WWE ring. I do feel like that would be my home, but Im not gonna say never, right? Who knows what the future holds. I dont wanna become a hypocrite.

Thats a softer tone than what she shared earlier this month on Kail Lowrys Barely Famous podcast, where she claimed WWE ghosted her after she became a mom.

Why would you want to be somewhere that doesnt want you? Carmella said on the podcast. Its like youre in a relationship and someone is trying to break up with you. No, dont leave me. I promise. No, youre not wanted in that relationship. Its not for me, and I truly feel that door is closed.

She added that shes not trying to bury the company but wants to be honest about how womenespecially mothersare still treated in wrestling. I feel like Im being punished because I had a baby, she said. I wouldnt change a damn thing. Im obsessed with my son but its just the reality of the situation.

The 37-year-old gave birth to her first child with WWE commentator Corey Graves in November 2023 and hasnt wrestled since March of that year. She held multiple championships in WWE, including the SmackDown Womens Title, Womens Tag Titles with Zelina Vega, and even racked up four reigns with the 24/7 Championship. She also won the first-ever Womens Money in the Bank and teamed with R-Truth to win the Mixed Match Challenge.

Still, she claims that no one from WWE management has contacted her since she spoke out. No, no one has reached out. Of course, my girls, the talent, theyve reached out. But, yeah, no one has reached out to me since.

Fans remain dividedsome believe WWE mishandled the situation, while others, including former star Stevie Richards, think Carmella shouldve waited to air her grievances publicly.

One things for sureCarmella isnt begging for a comeback, but shes not slamming the door either.
