Adam Copeland made his AEW debut at the WrestleDream pay-per-view back in 2023, but not a lot of people were happy about him leaving WWE. In fact, Jim Cornette recently claimed Copeland tarnished his legacy by joining AEW, and now Tony Schiavone has come to Copelands aid.
During a recent edition of his podcast, Jim Cornette believed that Copeland could have retired after his time in WWE and still been remembered as a big star with fond memories from fans. By returning for this brief run, he likely made around 10 million dollars, but in doing so, he risked damaging his reputation if he cared about that.
During the latest episode of his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone responded to Jim Cornettes claims and defended Copeland. Schiavone explained that Copelands legacy in WWE would never be tarnished.

Tony Schiavone pointed out that Copeland and Christian Cage are one of the greatest tag teams of all time. He also noted that no matter what Copeland does now, hes still making a great living well into his 50s.
Despite the different views from Cornette and Schiavone, one thing is clear, Adam Copeland has made a massive impact on the wrestling world. Whether through his groundbreaking work in WWE or his current run in AEW, Copelands legacy especially as part of the legendary Edge and Christian team, will continue to be remembered by fans for a long time and thatll never change.
