John Cenas shelved movie Coyote vs Acme is finally back on trackand its all thanks to Ketchup Entertainment stepping in with a big-money move.
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to the long-lost live-action/animated hybrid film for around $50 million, giving the Looney Tunes flick a second life after Warner Bros. pulled the plug in one of the most talked-about cost-cutting decisions in recent years.
The film, which stars Cena as an intimidating corporate lawyer defending the Acme Corporation, centers on Wile E. Coyote suing the company over its notoriously faulty products. Will Forte plays the scrappy lawyer representing Coyote, while Lana Condor and Tone Bell round out the cast.
Despite scoring well with test audiences, Warner Bros. buried the project in 2023, trying to write it off after a reported $70 million production cost. While Cena kept his cool about the move, his co-star Will Forte didnt mince wordscalling the cancellation f**ing bullsht.
Now, Coyote vs Acme is headed for theaters in 2026, thanks to Ketchup Entertainment making one of its biggest moves to date.
The timing couldnt be more interesting, either. Cena is currently in the middle of what looks like his final WWE run, teasing retirement while juggling major Hollywood commitments. With this movie now back in play, Cenas post-wrestling career might be looking a lot brighter than some expected.
