Stephanie Vaquer has been making noise in WWE ever since she signed, but now the NXT double champ has officially named the jaw-dropping move thats had fans talking for monthsand its got the kind of name youd expect from someone dominating two divisions at once.
While speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Vaquer finally revealed what her signature triangle head slam is called, and lets just say it sounds as brutal as it looks: Matt Bloom, my coach, calls it The Devils Kiss. I love this name, Vaquer said.
She explained that she never had a name for the move because it was so unorthodox. Many people ask me about it, and honestly, I didnt have a name for my move because its a bit unusual. I try to mix different styles. For example, my finisher is a combination of various moves, and I always try to create something new in wrestling.
The move itselfa violent slam that looks like a hybrid between a triangle choke and a driverhas gone viral thanks to its originality and intensity. Fans have flooded social media asking what its called, but Vaquer had kept quiet until now.
She also admitted that she once saw Charlotte Flair do something that looked somewhat similar, but emphasized that her version is very different. People would ask me what the move was called, and Id say I didnt know because I had never seen anything like it before. But now I know because I saw a video of Charlotte. I really didnt know before, but I think theres a big difference. Like I said, its differentyeah, very different. Its not the same. It might be similar, but its not the same.
Now that The Devils Kiss is officially part of her arsenal, its already becoming one of the most talked-about finishers in NXT. Booker Ts over-the-top reactions on commentary every time she hits the move only add to the momentand fans are eating it up.
As the reigning NXT Womens Champion and NXT Womens North American Champion, Vaquer has plenty of spotlight, and if this move is any indication, shes only getting started.
