Lee Westwood, a 51-year-old English golfer has serious goals in the future, but the question is how realistic it is to achieve them. In an interview with The i Paper, the experienced golfer emphasized the Ryder Cup, wanting to be the captain of the team.
Although he did not succeed in such an intention last year, considering the decision to become part of LIV Golf, it seems that he will not stop from such ambitions.
The Englishman, on the other hand, emphasizes that reconciliation between the two parties is necessary, saying that the PGA Tour does not give in to its demands.

"They sounded me out for Italy. I thought you cant go from playing in one to being captain in the next. I feel you should at least give yourself a chance to play another one.

Also, I knew LIV was on the horizon, so I didnt want to put myself in the position Henrik [Stenson, appointed captain for Rome] found himself in. So, for a few reasons it didnt feel like the right time. If I was asked to be captain at Adare Manor [2027 venue] I would jump at the chance. But certain things have to change. Rapprochement is necessary. I dont know that the PGA Tour are willing to give up anything, I dont think they are willing to bend at all.

The famous golfer is convinced that the DP World Tour has attitudes that are based on the attitudes of the PGA Tour, considering their strategic cooperation since 2020, and two years later, the cooperation became stronger, with the arrival of LIV Golf.
