
Buzz Williams has been hired as the new men's basketball coach at Maryland, ending his six-year stint at Texas A&M.
Maryland announced the hiring Tuesday but did not disclose terms. Sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel that Williams signed a six-year deal.
The Terrapins had been seeking a new head coach after Kevin Willard left Maryland on Sunday to become the new head coach at Villanova.
Maryland now will turn to Williams, who coached the Aggies to four consecutive winning seasons and three straight trips to the NCAA tournament.
Williams owns a career record of 372-228 over 18 seasons at Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Marquette and New Orleans.
