Just half an hour before NXT went live on April 1, WWE dropped an unexpected twistand fans arent sure if its real or just an April Fools stunt.

In a surprise video posted to NXTs official Twitter account, Stevie Turner and Robert Stone ran down the confirmed lineup for the nights show. But things took a strange turn when they turned to Blake Howard, who was in the background of the video.

Turner and Stone informed Howard that he would be joining the commentary team for the nightdirectly from Avas office. The moment felt totally unplanned, and Howards reaction made it all the more curious.

Theres no word yet on whether this was a one-off bit for April Fools Day or if WWE is actually testing something out with Howard on commentary. What makes it even more unusual is that theres no precedentnothing like this has happened in recent NXT memory.

It adds a layer of unpredictability to an already packed show featuring Trick Williams and Oba Femis confrontation and a North American Title match between Shawn Spears and Ricky Saints.
