Tiger Woods' future is always an interesting topic. There are many questions about the future of the great golfer, especially after the many injuries and surgeries that ruined his plans. Although he was supposed to play at the Masters in 8 days, Tiger suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, and had to 'go under the knife'.
The ESPN press conference before the Masters was a place for experts and well-known journalists to share their thoughts on Tiger.
Andy North, a well-known name to golf fans, especially the older ones, pointed out that Tiger's children had a huge impact on his career, as well as the car accident.
"Ive got to believe that deep down in my heart, he is one of the great competitors of all time, but if he didnt have any children, I dont know if hed be playing now.
I think one of the reasons hes worked so hard after the [car] accident was because it gave him a great opportunity to spend so much time with Charlie and play golf with his son, and watch Charlie get better. He made a comment to me one time that there are days Charlie comes home from school and embarrasses him into going and play nine holes late in the afternoon with him. I think thats something thats so special."- he said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.
Andy North on Tiger's rehab
He believes rehab will be 'brutally difficult' for Woods, saying Tiger has achieved enough success that he doesn't need to prove himself anymore. North also believes it wouldn't be surprising if Tiger confirmed his retirement in a few months, stressing it would be a great thing.
However, he does have question marks over Woods' future, feeling that Tiger will try to make a comeback, but will he be competitive? North doesn't quite believe that.
