World No. 129 Francesca Jones collapsed in a scary scene at the Colsanitas Cup in Bogota and had to be assisted into a wheelchair and taken out of the court.
With Julia Riera leading 5-3 in the third set and the British tennis player facing a 15/30 deficit on her serve, the world No. 129 was in service motion when she suddenly fell to the ground. The doctor and the chair umpire instantly rushed toward the 24-year-old to check on her.
After Jones lay on the court for some time, a wheelchair was brought in. The match ended with a retirement and the former world No. 123 left the court in a wheelchair.

WTA Bogota released a statement on the Jones situation
"Due to a physical issue, Francesca Jones has withdrawn from her match against Julia Riera at 6-2 5-7 5-3 in favor of the Argentinian. We wish the British tennis player a speedy recovery," the Bogota organizers said in a statement after the scary situation..
Before retiring, the Briton easily lost the first set after getting broken twice. However, she bounced back in the second set after breaking Riera in the 12th game when the Argentine was serving to stay in the set.
But Jones' momentum was short-lived as Riera started the third set with back-to-back breaks and a 3-0 lead. The British tennis player managed to get one break back but then an unfortunate scene happened.

Meanwhile, the British tennis player won five matches last week to win the Futures event in Vacaria, Brazil. In February, she also enjoyed a good run in Cancun, when she reached the semifinal. She now owns a 14-5 record this season.
Hopefully, the 24-year-old's collapse in Bogota won't turn out to be a serious condition and she will soon return to action.
