Jannik Sinner leads the ATP Race after the opening three months of the season. In theory, that should not be strange after knowing he successfully defended his Australian Open title. However, that's Jannik's only tournament since the start of the season!

Despite that, his closest rivals did not win enough points in Indian Wells and Miami to pass him! Jannik conquered his third Major crown in Melbourne, adding 2000 ATP points to his tally. However, he reached an agreement with WADA in February and accepted a three-month suspension.

Alexander Zverev had a massive chance to become the 30th world no. 1 in ATP history. Instead, the German experienced five early losses to plague his chances and remain far behind the Italian.

Like Alexander, the other players also failed to embrace a deep run at all three notable events of the opening three months of 2025. The Australian Open, Indian Wells and Miami witnessed six differentfinalists and 11semi-finalists!

The only player who reachedtwo semi-finals at these events is the 37-year-old Novak Djokovic! No one notched the quarter-final at all three notable events, and only four players added two to their tallies. Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Arthur Fils and FranciscoCerundolo are on that list.

As we already said, Sinner collected 2000 ATP points in Melbourne, and no one could move closer to that number. Novak Djokovic generated 1460, reaching the Australian Open semi-final and the Miami Open final.

Alexander Zverev started with 1300 points at the Australian Open. However, he suffered early losses in Indian Wells and Miami for 1410 points and the third place on the list. The Indian Wells champion, Jack Draper, is fourth, standing 80 points above the Miami Open winner, Jakub Mensik.

Ben Shelton played well in Melbourne and Indian Wells ahead of an early Miami loss. The American is the sixth and last player with 1000 points at these three tournaments. Holger Rune holds the seventh spot with 860 points, 50 more than Carlos Alcaraz.

The Spaniard fell to Djokovic in the Australian Open quarter-final before losing to Jack Draper in Indian Wells. World no. 3 suffered a heavy loss to David Goffin in Miami, missing an opportunity to climb the ranking.

To sum things up, the opening three notable events of 2025 saw threechampions and six finalists. No one managed to catch Sinner's 2000 ATP points or even come closer. The Monte CarloMasters is ahead of us, and we should expect more surprising results.
