Cody Rhodes is already making long-term plans for his iconic entrance, and this one hits close to home.
The Undisputed WWE Champion recently opened up on Stephanies Places about the emotional connection he has to his entrance theme Kingdom by Downstait, and the signature line that kicks it off: Wrestling has more than one royal family.
That line has echoed through arenas since Cody left WWE in 2016, and it turns outhe laid that track down right after walking out the door. I recorded that weeks after I left WWE the first time (in 2016). To this day, we still use that audio sample, Rhodes said.
But hes already thinking about the future of that voiceoverand who hed want to pass the torch to. My goal actually, I dont know if she would want to do this, but the beginning of my song and the voiceover that exists, Id love my daughter [Liberty] to do it at one point, Cody revealed.
Thats not just a sentimental thoughtits legacy. I want her to have a good experience in this. I had the best experience. Certainly, you cant predict the highs and lows and all its going to be. Opportunity showed, opportunity knocked, I was able to answer. Very lucky, he continued.
Cody has kept Kingdom as his anthem even after returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38and with his title reign in full swing, the track isnt going anywhere anytime soon. Hes set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41 against none other than John Cena.
Legacy. Loyalty. Family. Codys making sure all three stay at the heart of his storynow and in the future.
